Netizens Compare ‘Mission Impossible’ Starring Tom Cruise Of Copying SRK’s ‘Pathaan’

Some Redditors believe that the action scene in the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One trailer shows Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt emulating Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. Additionally, fresh images from the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One trailer were uploaded on Reddit, and they resemble scenes from the hugely popular Indian spy movie Pathaan, which came out in January of this year.

Tom Cruise’s multiple death-defying feats from the next sequel, such as being hanged from a cliff and sending a train flying and crashing, are best seen in the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One trailer, which debuted earlier this year. Particularly, the action-packed Pathaan scenes starring Tiger and Shah Rukh Khan on a railway set have drawn comparisons to those scenes.

Very similar scenes in Pathaan and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One, Bolly Blinds N Gossip noted in a post on Reddit on Wednesday. However, nobody will bash MI (Mission Impossible) for it. Redditors quickly responded to the assertion, with some making jokes about the’similar shots’ and others weighing in on the ‘the whole Bollywood versus Hollywood’ issue.

A person joked, “Chalo (okay) I will troll MI now (laughing emoji).” Another said, “So true! Scenes look similar no doubt!”

One added Jackie Chan to the mix, and wrote, “I am sorry what?! I thought Pathaan was a Indian copy of all Mission Impossible films? The entire train sequence is a scene-to-scene make of a Jackie Chan animation.” Another one agreed, “Oh look! Tom Cruise stole from Jackie Chan Adventures because the idea of a hero running in the opposite direction of a plummeting train is so original that only he geniuses behind the Jackie Chan Adventure could come up with it.”

One Redditor made a comparison between Pathaan, a Siddharth Anand film with Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh, and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. She wrote, “I hate doing the whole Hollywood vs Bollywood thing, but Mission Impossible films are some kick ass movies! They are so fun! Great action! Great everything! I love me some DP (Deepika Padukone) and SRK (Shah Rukh Khan), but MI movies are so cool. They bloody skydive and do some cool espionage.”

Another one said, “Train falling off a bridge with people on top was not invented by Tom Cruz or SRK… it’s been an old stunt or action sequence.” One more said, “Got to wait to see the movie. A lot of it is in the quality of VFX. And Fast and Furious movies get trolled a lot, so it’s not like Hollywood is safe.”

The Covid-19 epidemic was one of the challenges that Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One faced since it was announced in early 2019. Filming was completed in September 2021. The eagerly anticipated premiere of Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One is scheduled for July.

In the most recent MI film, which was directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Tom Cruise and his IMF team are sent on their most hazardous mission yet: “To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands.”
