Kejriwal’s Roadshow Resonates ‘God’s Hand’ in Jail Release, Crowd Rallies

After being released from prison, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched his second roadshow in New Delhi on Sunday, stepping up his criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In his speech to the citizens of the nation’s capital, Arvind Kejriwal declared, “God has brought him out of jail to defeat BJP.”

On Friday, Arvind Kejriwal left Tihar jail after being granted temporary release by the Supreme Court to run in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Arvind Kejriwal’s bail was granted subject to stringent restrictions by the highest court, and it was decided that the chief minister of Delhi must appear before the Tihar jail officials on June 2.

Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, and Arvind Kejriwal hosted their second massive roadshow in Delhi.

The party’s candidate for the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat, Somnath Bharti, was the focus of the Sunday roadshow at Moti Nagar, West Delhi.

Amidst applauding cries from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members, Arvind Kejriwal declared he will not return to jail following his 20-day sentence.

In response to his supporters’ cries of “nahi jayenge, nahi jayenge,” he stated, “These people are saying I will have to go back to jail after 20 days.”

“If you press the jhaadu button the maximum, I will not have to go back to jail. You have the power,” Arvind Kejriwal added.

Speaking to his supporters in front of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Arvind Kejriwal said that his imprisonment was a result of his employment for the Delhi government.

The chief minister of Delhi took a jab at the BJP, claiming that the saffron party seeks to halt the work being done for the citizens of Delhi.

“If I went back to jail, the BJP would stop your work, free electricity, degrade schools and shut down hospitals and Mohalla Clinics,” he charged.

Arvind Kejriwal praised AAP’s candidate for New Delhi, Somnath Bharti, saying the latter is a dedicated worker who is accessible to Delhi residents even at strange hours.

Arvind Kejriwal, criticising the BJP for exploiting government agencies for political gain, said that he went 15 days without receiving an insulin injection while incarcerated.

In order to defeat the BJP, he claimed that God had freed him from prison. “The nation is under a dictatorship. This despotism must end,” he continued.
