PM Modi Names Vikram Lander’s Touchdown Point On Moon As ‘Shiv Shakti’ In Bengaluru

At the Telemetry, Tracking and Command Centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation in the Peenya industrial district of Bengaluru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Isro scientists and officials and praised them for the success of Chandrayaan-3.

PM Modi finished his trip to two countries this morning and arrived in Bengaluru. When Chandrayaan-3 touched down, Prime Minister Modi said it was a moment of immense joy. He said he intended to meet the scientists as soon as he got back to the country to thank and honor them.

At the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the area where Chandrayaan-3’s lunar lander touched down will be called as “Shivshakti.”

He also announced that the day when Chandrayaan-3 landed on the Moon, August 23, would now be known as ‘National Space Day’.

“On 23rd August, India hoisted national flag on the Moon. From now onwards, that day will be known as National Space Day in India”, said PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “The spot on the lunar surface where the Chandrayaan-2 left its footprints will be known as ‘Tiranga’. This will be an inspiration for every effort made by India. It will remind us any failure is not final.”

He spoke to the Isro scientists when they arrived about 7:30 am. S Somanath, the chairman of ISRO, sent a replica of the lander Vikram to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in addition to other gifts.

“I want to thank each and every one of you for your effort and commitment. The height to which you have brought the nation is neither a typical height, nor is it a typical success, according to PM Modi.

When discussing Chandrayaan-3’s success, the prime minister became emotional and remarked, “India is on the moon.”

India is on the moon, Prime Minister Modi declared in front of the experts. We arrived at a location that had never been reached before. We took action that had never been done before. This is the bold and brave India of today.

He also addressed women scientists’ role in the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3. “Women are now leading India’s scientific endeavors. Women scientists played a key role in Chandrayaan-3,” said PM Modi at Isro.

“There was a time when we were counted in the third row. Today, from trade to technology, India is standing in the first row among developed countries. In this journey from the ‘Third row’ to the ‘First row’, institutions like ‘Isro’ have played a significant role,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi, addressing the Isro scientists, also said that experts believe India’s space industry will become $16 billion from $8 billion in a few years.

PM Modi added, “India will definitely emerge as a global leader in Science and Technology. This spirit of innovation will take India to newer and newer heights, this spirit of innovation will make India a Developed Nation by 2047!”

When Chandrayaan-3 successfully made a soft landing on the surface of the moon on August 23, it marked a significant turning point in the mission’s space exploration. The touchdown of the lander module was virtually witnessed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India is currently among the top four countries for soft landings on the lunar surface and is the first country to have traveled close to the Moon’s uncharted south pole.
