PM Modi Dedicate Projects Worth ₹32,000 Cr To Nation In Name Of ‘All Round Development’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Monday, the eve of his trip to Jammu, that the initiatives he will dedicate to the country during the full day visit are a “huge boost” to the area’s “all-around development.”

“I look forward to being in Jammu tomorrow to inaugurate key development works which will boost ‘Ease of Living.’ It will also be a landmark day for the education sector as various institutions including IITs and IIMs will get permanent campuses,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).

While at the winter capital of Jammu & Kashmir, Prime Minister Modi will present appointment letters to 1,500 newly recruited government employees in the Union territory (UT) and lay the cornerstone for projects valued at ₹32,000 crore.

Furthermore, he will engage with recipients of other government programmes as part of the “Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu” initiative.

The Maulana Azad Stadium in the city will host the event starting at approximately 11:30 a.m. The projects are related to a variety of industries, including municipal infrastructure, railroads, roads, aviation, health, and petroleum.

These include various IIT, IIM, and Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) campuses; new buildings for Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs); AIIMS Jammu; a new terminal building at Jammu airport; rail and road projects; a CUF (Common User Facility) petroleum depot; and more.

His previous visit to J&K during his second term was in April 2022; this Tuesday’s visit will be his second. The most recent visit also occurs shortly before his bid for a third consecutive term as prime minister during the April–May Lok Sabha elections.

In May2019, PM Modi’s second term got underway. One of the most significant moments was the repeal of Article 370, a law that gave Jammu and Kashmir “special status,” in August 2019. At the time, J&K was a whole state that had also been divided into Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, two independent UTs.
