On September 24, actress Parineeti Chopra and AAP leader Raghav Chadha were wed in Udaipur. A recent story claims that the couple adopted a “no-gifts policy” at their wedding and accepted a milni of just Rs 11.
The wedding of Parineeti and Raghav and the events that followed have been widely spoken about. In the company of their close friends and family, the couple got married. However, they declined all wedding gifts, and the milni, a custom in which the bride’s family gives the groom and his family presents and money, was restricted to Rs 11.
Priyanka Chopra’s mother, Madhu Chopra, when asked about the gift she gave to Parineeti, stated that there was no exchange of gifts and she just gave them her blessings. “Bahut badhiya… Unhone sab mana kar diya, no lena-dena, bas ashirwad (The wedding was great. They asked us to not gift anything, there was no exchange of gifts, just gave them my blessings).”
Further asked about how Parineeti looked as a bride, Madhu had said, “Waise hi khubsoorat hai, aur achi lag rahi thi (She is beautiful as is, so as a bride she looked even more beautiful).”
Priyanka Chopra’s mom, Madhu Chopra, also attended Parineeti’s wedding. However, PeeCee couldn’t accompany her. As paparazzi clicked Madhu at the airport, they asked her about the actress’ absence. Madhu replied, “Wo kam kar rahe the (She was busy with work).” When paps asked her if she enjoyed the wedding, she said, “very good.” Another pap asked her to describe how beautiful Parineeti looked in her wedding dress. Madhu answered, “Vaise hi khubsoorat hai, aur achi lag rahi thi (She is pretty anyway, so she was looking even more beautiful.).”
