After 12 years of marriage, Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani formally announced their split on February 7. Rumours that the two had broken up had been going about for a few weeks. Recently, a Reddit thread about the breakup of Esha and Bharat became very popular. The post was inspired by the way Esha had been spotted appearing in public without Bharat during the previous few weeks.
On February 7, the couple issued a statement about their decision. Their statement read, “We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected throughout.”
In 2012, Esha and Bharat tied the knot. They are now done together because of their insurmountable differences.
Radhya and Miraya, their two daughters, are raised by them. Miraya was welcomed into the family in 2019, whereas Radhya was born in 2017.
In an interaction with India Today, Esha Deol said, “We met at the inter-school competition called Cascade, which my school hosted. I wrote my phone number on a piece of tissue and gave it to him. Back then I had braces. So, I always say he truly loved me with braces on. He found me cute.””
She further added, “We had one phone in my mother’s room and had no extension. It used to be very difficult to talk back then. In that age, it was infatuation and innocence. That was beautiful. Of course, we were in touch in college, and then my work life started at 18. It fizzled out, but I am happy that we got back, and he is my life partner.”
Esha is the child of Dharmendra and Hema Malini, a couple from Bollywood.
