Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday announced that he will step down from his post soon after he finds a replacement for the same.
“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams,” said Musk in a tweet.
This comes after he launched a poll in which he asked the users decide on his term, saying that he would “abide by the results”.
On Sunday it was a deadline for the poll and it was concluded that 57.5% users had voted for him to leave his post.
In just 20 minutes of him posing the question, the ‘yes’ vote went ahead, he further said, “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it”.
In a response to one of the comments Musk said, “The question is not finding a CEO, the question is finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive.
He also mentioned, “No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor.”
