On the occasion of birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and veteran Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi, the grand old party will today declare the names of members who will be part of it’s top decision making body. Rajasthan leader Sachin Pilot has been named as a member in Congress Woking Committee.
This comes ahead the assembly elections scheduled in the later part of this year.
Along with Sachin Pilot the other new members in the Congress Working Committee include Shashi Tharoor, Syed Nasser Hussain and Deepa Das Munshi.
Ms Hussain is currently a Rajya Sabha member who has served as Congress’ national media panellist earlier and Ms Das Munshi is a former MP from West Bengal.
According to the sources, Mr Pilot is also likely to be made in-charge of a state.
A signatory to the letter written by G-23 members who demanded reforms in Congress party in 2020, Anand Sharma is also declared as a member of the CWC.
The members to the top decision making body have not been chosen by any election rather they have nominated by the the party president Mallikarjun Kharge.
