In spite of its lengthy runtime and ‘A’ rating, the much awaited movie Animal is set to be released in three days, and anticipation is high. Many believed that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) must have made numerous edits to the Ranbir Kapoor film. Therefore, it is encouraging to hear that despite facing modifications, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed film’s cut list is less than anticipated.
At one hour and thirty-one minutes, the CBFC requested that a specific term be changed to “Black.” The word “costume” was used in place of “vastra.” The dialogues “Kabhi nahin” and “Kya bol rahe ho aap” were changed.
Then, the word ‘Natak’ was muted at 2 hours and 13 minutes. The subtitles were changed to ‘You change pads four times a month’.
The close-up views of a private moment between two characters have been removed, creating a visual cut. Finally, all instances of the swear words have been “suitably” changed.
On November 23, the censor certificate was given to Animal’s creators following these modifications. According to the certificate, the film is 203 minutes long. Put otherwise, Animal lasts for three hours and twenty-three minutes.
Additionally, the picture received a unique certification from none other than CBFC head Prasoon Joshi.
