On Sunday, a clash between security personnel and militants took place in the Jammu and Kashmir district of Pulwama, injuring an Army soldier. Prior to the encounter, it was thought that two terrorists, including the top leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba, had perished. But it’s thought that they’ve managed to get away.
The Larrow-Parigam area is where the confrontation began. Forces began the operation after receiving intelligence-based information concerning militant activity in the district’s Parigam hamlet.
“The encounter has begun in Pulwama’s Larrow-Parigam neighborhood. Police and security personnel are on duty. Details will be provided, the Kashmir Zone Police announced on X (formerly Twitter).
The incident in the Rajouri district two weeks ago resulted in the death of a terrorist. On August 5, the Army’s Rashtriya Rifles and the J&K Police jointly conducted an operation based on intelligence.
Three Army personnel were killed in a shootout with militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district the day before the August 5 operation was to begin.
According to a police officer, security personnel had conducted a cordon and search operation in the upper reaches of the Halan forest area of the Kulgam district in south Kashmir after receiving information that militants were present there.
Police reported that after the terrorists fired at the security personnel, who returned fire, the search operation degenerated into an encounter. Three members of the security forces were hurt during the gunfire exchange. The three Army servicemen died as a result of their wounds while receiving treatment.
