Oh My God 2, starring Akshay Kumar, has been in the news for a while. United Arab Emirates (UAE) theaters will also screen the movie, in addition to those in India. The movie reportedly earned a 12A certificate in the UAE days before OMG 2 was released.
OMG 2 has been given a 12A certificate in the UAE, which means that viewers must be at least 12 years old. “There is only one cut that has been given in the UAE is frontal nudity which is also given by the Indian Censor board. But the only difference is the CBFC here has made the makers do about 34 modifications for an Adult certificate,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.
Oddly, this just a few days after OMG 2 was given a ‘A – Adults Only’ rating by the Indian censor board. The movie was approved after 27 edits and countless adjustments. The modifications include “changing the figure Shiv ji’s entire presentation and presenting him as a devotee and messenger of God. Additionally, a dialogue “Nandi mere bhakt… Jo agya prabhu” was added, “frontal nudity was deleted and appropriately replaced with a visual of Naga Sadhus,” and “the poster of Mood X condom on the billboard” was taken down.
The Central Board Of Film Certification asked for a reassessment of OMG 2 in July of this year. The movie was brought to the reviewing committee as a “preemptive measure,” India Today reported. According to reports, the choice was made to avoid the criticism that developed after Adipurush was made public in June 2023.
The 2012 film OMG, which again featured Akshay Kumar in the lead role, was followed up with OMG 2. The 2012 film’s Paresh Rawal, who was in it, won’t appear in the follow-up. Pankaj Tripathi has joined the franchise in its place. In the film, Yami Gautam also has a significant role. The theme of OMG 2 is sex education.
OMG 2 will hit theatres on August 11. This means that the film will clash at the box office with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Rajinikanth starrer Jailer.
