‘Many BJP Leaders Likely To Join Congress Party Soon’, Says Deputy CM Laxman Savadi

A number of significant BJP legislators and leaders will join the Congress, Former Deputy Chief Minister and Athani MLA Laxman Savadi stated in Bagalkot on November 19.

But this isn’t a congressional operation, either. These leaders are fed up with the BJP’s internal politics and are joining the Congress. After they join, they must be given crucial positions to fill. That makes sense,” he remarked. “Leave it until January 26 and see what transpires.”

According to Mr. Savadi, the BJP would suffer if a politician from north Karnataka was not selected to be the State unit president. “The party claims to have the support of Lingayats across Karnataka. Actually, Lingayats are concentrated in northern Karnataka, but they have no representation (in the BJP). The leaders who have been chosen as the State president and Leader of Opposition (R. Ashok), have limited influence even in their districts and surrounding areas. That is why BJP’s plans of having the support of Lingayats will not work out,” he said.

In response to a question, he declared that he disagreed with Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan’s assertion that certain lawmakers were compelled to recognise the Speaker’s authority. It is a crucial post in terms of the constitution. The Speaker ought to be respected by all. That is beyond dispute,” he declared.
