More than 20 notices have been issued by the members of Opposition from the INDIA block demanding suspension of business in Rajya Sabha to discuss security breach in Parliament that took place last week.
INDIA bloc’s leaders from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will meet at 10 am today to plan out a strategy with regard to the Parliament security breach, said the sources.
Fourteen legislators were suspended from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on December 15 as they demanded a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the security breach thag took place on the 22nd anniversary of Parliament attack 2001.
On December 13, during a zero hour in the Parliament two men — Manoranjan D and Sagar Sharma jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber carrying canisters that released yellow smoke and shouted slogans before they were subdued by the MPs. The two men entered the Parliament on a visitor pass in the name of BJP MP Pratap Simha.
Another man and a woman – Anmol Shinde and Neelam Devi also protested outside the Parliament building. They also carried canisters releasing yellow smoke.
The prime accused in the Parliament security breach incident Lalit Jha reportedly circulated videos of the protest outside the Parliament on social media. All including the mastermind Lalit Jha are under Police custody now.
The sixth accused named Mahesh Kumawat was also arrested by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell later after his involvement was confirmed by the officials.
