The Bharatiya Janata Party will organize protests across the state of Karanataka today to condemn the Belagavi incident where a woman was stripped naked and tied to a pole after her son eloped with a girl of their village.
A five-member all-woman fact-finding committee has been set up on orders of BJP President JP Nadda to visit the village where the incident took place.
Meanwhile, state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has criticized the BJ’s move saying, “Nadda’s sudden awakening and his attempt to stir up this case four days after the incident indicate a political motive rather than genuine concern for women”.
