The top wrestlers who have been protesting against the chief of wrestling federation of India since five months have now announced that they will fight the battle in the court now.
In similar tweets, Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat said that the government has fulfilled their wish of filing a chargesheet against the WFI chief Brij Bhushan, who is also a strong politician.
“In this case, the wrestlers’ protest will continue until we get justice, but it (fight) will be in court and not on the road,” said the wrestlers through their twitter handles.
“Regarding the reform in WFI (Wrestling Federation of India), the election process, as promised, has begun. We will wait for the fulfilment of promises made by the government regarding the July 11 elections,” the top wrestlers further said.
Ms Malik and Ms Phogat soon after their statement, further announced that a break from social media.
Earlier in the month the police finally filed charges against Mr Bhushan of sexual harassment, stalking and criminal intimidation and wrestlers’ announcement into its effect.
Meanwhile, the BJP MP who has been relieved of all his administrative duties has denied all the allegations levelled against him.
