‘World Grows With Us’, Says PM Modi Addressing Joint Sitting In US Claims India’s Economy To Be 3rd Largest Soon

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed a joint sitting of the US Congress. It was his second address to the joint sitting, his first was in June 2016.

During his address PM Modi said, “It is always a great honour to address the US Congress and it is an exceptional privilege to do so twice”.

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi was even hosted for a private dinner by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. This honor is generally reserved for closest allies of the US.

PM Modi is on his three-day visit to US, where he received an exciting welcome from the expat Indians. During his visit, he has met many industry leaders, academicians, medical professionals, Nobel laureates, authors and mathematicians.

The visit has marked upon the commitment between US and India to deepen their friendship. It shows that in the era of AI (Artificial Intelligence) another AI (America-India) is also progressing on same scale.

During his first visit to US, India was world’s 10th largest economy. Now, India stands at 5th largest economy and soon it will be 3rd largest economy, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi adding that “when India grows, the whole world grows”.

He further said, democracy, inclusion and sustainability are the principles that defines India. We grow with due responsibility towards our planet. Our culture also respects the environment as our vision stands on lines of pro-planet progress.

At last, when I addressed the joint sitting for the first time I had said that our friendship is important for a progressive future and the future is today, said the Prime Minister.
