A Hindu school teacher was shot by terrorists in the Kulgam area of Kashmir, in yet another case of targeted attacks on minorities in Jammu and Kashmir. Rajni Bala, 36, a native of Samba in the Jammu region, was injured when terrorists opened fire on her in the Gopalpora area of Kulgam, where she was working as a teacher, according to police. She was seriously injured and brought to the hospital, where doctors immediately confirmed her dead. The police have stated that the terrorists responsible for the heinous crime would be discovered and neutralized as quickly as possible.
The incident occurred at a high school in Kulgam’s Gopalpora neighborhood. A cordon has been placed around the area.
Omar Abdullah, vice-president of the National Conference, called the attack on the teacher “despicable.”
“Rajni was from the Jammu province’s Samba District. She was a government teacher in the Kulgam district of South Kashmir who was killed in a heinous targeted attack. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband, Raj Kumar, and the rest of her family. Another family’s home has been permanently ruined by violence “he stated
“This is the latest in a long line of targeted killings of defenseless citizens. Condemnation and condolences are hollow, as are government pledges that they will not rest until the situation is normalized. May the souls of the departed rest in peace “Mr Abdullah went on to say more.
Despite the Centre’s assurances of normalcy in Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, the president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir, stated targeted killings were on the rise.
“Despite the Indian government’s false claims that Kashmir is normal, it is clear that targeted civilian deaths are on the rise and a major source of concern. Condemn this act of cowardice, which unfortunately feeds into the BJP’s poisonous anti-Muslim narrative “she sent out a tweet
Sajad Lone, the leader of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference, also condemned the death, stating that “cowardice has once again plunged to disgusting depths.”
“In Kulgam, a teacher, an innocent woman from Samba, was shot and killed. May her spirit find eternal rest “he stated
Altaf Thakur, a BJP spokesman, vehemently denounced the attack. “Another heinous act of terrorism has occurred in Kulgam. Attacking defenseless citizens, particularly women, is not an act of valor, but rather one of frustration “He went on to say.
A government employee, Rahul Bhat, was recently shot dead by militants inside his workplace in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, sparking widespread protests. Terrorists assassinated Mr Bhat three weeks ago inside the Tehsil office in Chadoora town. In 2010-11, he was hired as a clerk as part of the special employment package for migrants.
Amreen Bhat, a 35-year-old social media star, was shot and killed by terrorists in the Budgam area just a week ago. The attack also harmed a 10-year-old boy, the woman’s nephew. According to authorities, the incident was carried out by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists.
This is the month’s seventh targeted killing in Kashmir. Three of the victims were off-duty police officers, while the other four were civilians.
Members of the Hindu community in the valley, including Rahul Bhat’s family, have accused the BJP-led administration in Delhi of turning young Kashmiri Hindus into “cannon fodder” in the name of community rehabilitation.
They’ve also stated that the incident has ruined their hopes of permanently living in the valley.
Soon Nath Bhat, a relative of Rahul Bhat, said, “You (BJP) have formed a plot to get young Kashmiri Pandits killed in the pretext of giving them jobs and rehabilitating them.”
He described such people as “sitting ducks” for terrorists who use them as “target practice.”
In the wake of an increase in targeted killings, police and security personnel have been on high alert. Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security personnel in the Pulwama district earlier today, according to police. One of the terrorists slain, they said, was involved in civilian deaths.
An encounter broke out late Monday night at Rajpora in the Awantipora region of Pulwama district as security personnel launched an anti-terror operation, according to a police official.
During the first five months of this year, security forces killed 26 foreign terrorists linked with the terrorist groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad in Jammu and Kashmir, according to Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar.
