According to the government’s official data only nine states and UTs have started their third phase of vaccination covering all aged between 18 and 44.
The remaining have delayed their vaccination until they get the sufficient vaccine stock to start thier mass inoculation for all above 18.
Ever since the central government have initiated its mass vaccination for all 18 plus from May 1, all states are placing orders for getting vaccine stock to start with their immunisation drive.
The nine states and UTs that have started their vaccination include Maharashtra, Delhi, Odisha, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
These states have a stock for the month of May. Four states — Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra have recieved 3 lakh doses each. Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh have recieved 1.5 lakh each while Delhi alone has recieved 4.5 lakh doses. In all total 22,50,000 doses have been supplied to these nine states and UTs.
Delhi has so far administered its 40,028 doses, 1,08,197 in Gujarat, Rajasthan has vaccinated its 76,151 doses and Maharashtra 73,714 doses.
According to the data all these nine states except Delhi have a remaning stock at least for the month of May.
