What Elon Musk Say About Twitter’s New Policy Amid Mass Exodus

After a wave of staff departures, the new Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach, according to Elon Musk, the company’s new CEO.

Following his demand that they devote themselves to “hardcore” labour, hundreds of Twitter staff quit yesterday. Within a week of Musk’s acquisition, the company’s personnel had already been reduced by half.

Hateful tweets will be “deboosted and demonetised,” Musk stated in his most recent policy update for his new acquisition.

“Freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach, is the new Twitter policy. Hateful or negative tweets will be max deboosted & demonetized, meaning Twitter won’t get any ads or other income from them. You won’t find the tweet until you look for it specifically, which is identical to how the rest of the Internet works,” he tweeted.

He explained that this only pertains to that specific tweet and not the entire account.

Musk also published a Twitter poll on the reinstatement of former US President Donald Trump’s account, months after he had pledged to do so. The suspension had been put in place following last year’s violence at the Capitol. He said the Latin proverb “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” which translates to “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”

He had announced the restoration of numerous other accounts hours earlier, but had added that no decision on Trump had yet been taken.

Musk demanded that they commit to working greater hours at “high intensity” or accept a three-month severance package, which led to the widespread resignations. He claimed in his email that in order for Twitter to flourish, “we need to be “very rigorous,” according to news agency.

Even as the firm closed its offices until Monday, Musk was unconcerned with the resignations, saying, “The best people are remaining, so I’m not really worried.”

In the midst of the enormous layoffs, job losses, and concerns about Twitter’s ability to carry on as usual, Musk claimed that usage of the service reached “another all-time high.”
