On Wednesday, a man shot and killed feared mobster Sanjeev Jeeva inside a court in Lucknow. When the attacker opened fire inside the courthouse, Jeeva was killed and a young girl was also hurt.
A close associate of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva, was charged with murdering BJP MLA Bramha Dutt Dwivedi.
According to early reports, the assailant shot Sanjeev Jeeva after entering the courtroom dressed as a lawyer. The Lucknow Police have detained the assailant who killed Sanjeev Jeeva. Vijay Yadav has been named as the man.
Jeeva, a notorious shooter in his own right, was taken before a court in Lucknow for a criminal case hearing. He was detained in several additional criminal investigations.
The attack also injured a police policeman, who was taken to the Lucknow Civil Hospital for medical attention.
After the gunfight, a large police presence has been placed in the Lucknow court.
Sanjeev Jeeva began his quest as a compounder and eventually became enmeshed in the underworld. Additionally, he was rumoured to have been close to Munna Bajrangi, who passed away in 2018 while incarcerated in Baghpat prison.
