Villagers in Bihar Assault CBI Team Investigating UGC-NET Paper Leak

When a CBI team from Delhi arrived in Kasiyadin in the Nawada district of Bihar on Saturday night as part of their investigation into the UGC NET question paper leak case, a group of villagers attacked them and broke the windows of their car because they believed the officials were not real, according to police.

In this regard, police have opened a case, taken into custody four people, and confiscated two cell phones.

On Saturday, a four-person CBI team from Delhi, led by an inspector rank officer, arrived in Rajauli, in the Nawada district, to look into the issue of the leaked UGC NET examination questions. According to officials, the CBI team had arrived in the village in search of a few individuals connected to the case, based on where their cell phone numbers were located.

The situation was brought under control after Rajesh Kumar, the station house officer (SHO) of the Rajauli police station, arrived at the scene and calmed the people after the Rajauli police received information about the attack on the CBI officials.

After disparities in the examination, the federal agency began the UGC-NET investigation a few days ago at the ministry of education’s (MOE) suggestion.

“The inquiry is still ongoing. “Those connected to the case will be taken into custody,” a police official declared. About the identities of the suspects, the police remain silent.

Rajouli SHO said, “A CBI team reached Nawada on Saturday evening to investigate the UGC NEET paper leak case. Without informing the local police, they reached the village where they were attacked by villagers who thought they were fake CBI officers. As we came to know about the incident, police reached the spot and pacified people. An FIR has been lodged in this regard and we have arrested four persons in this connection.”
