Veteran Actor Mukul Dev Dies at 54, Known for Impactful Villain Roles

After a brief illness, actor Mukul Dev passed away on Friday. He was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for treatment as his condition deteriorated. Rahul Dev, his brother, survived him at the age of 54.

Mukul’s death was confirmed to the news agency by Vindu Dara Singh, who costarred with him in “Son of Sardaar.” He bemoaned Mukul’s inability to see himself on the big screen. “After his parent’s death, Mukul was keeping to himself. He would not even step out of the house or meet anyone. His health deteriorated in the last few days, and he was in the hospital. My condolences to his brother and everyone who knew and loved him. He was an amazing person, and we will all miss him,” Singh said.

Actor and Mukul’s buddy Deepshika Nagpal also shared a picture of the deceased actor on Instagram. She revealed in an interview with India Today that Mukul never discussed his ailment with anybody. They frequently communicate in their WhatsApp pals group. “I woke up in the morning to this news. I have been calling his number since then, hoping he would pick up,” she said, getting emotional.

Mukul was well-known for his contributions to music albums, television shows, and Hindi and Punjabi films. Additionally, he made appearances in a few Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, and Kannada films. ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ earned him the 7th Amrish Puri Award for acting excellence.

The Delhi-born actor began his television debut in 1996 as Vijay Pandey in the series “Mumkin.” ‘Ek Se Badh Kar Ek’, a humorous Bollywood countdown show, was another show in which he appeared. He appeared in a number of other films, such as “Qila” (1998), “Wajood” (1998), “Kohram” (1999), and “Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachaao” (2001).
