US Launched Drone Strike In Revenge Of Kabul Attack

The United States has carried out a drone strike at an Islamic State member who is believed to have planning attacks against US in Kabul, told military. The US Central Command said the strike occurred in Nangahar area, east of Kabul killing one person.
“Initial indications are that we killed the target. We know of no civilian casualties,” stated the US military.

The US President Joe Biden has also pledged to chase down those behind the attacks on Kabul airport and said he had asked the Pentagon to concoct plans to strike at the perpetrators. “We will not forgive, we will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay,” he said.

Biden held silence moment and gave condolences to the kin of US service members who lost their lives in the explosions in Kabul and called American service individuals who lost their lives “heroes” and “the best the country has to offer.”

Around 5,000 US troops are there at the Kabul airport helping in evacuating American citizens, at-risk Afghans and other nationalities before Biden’s Tuesday deadline.

This attack came after the deadly attack at Kabul airport which killed around 200 Afghans including 13 US troops. The attack in Kabul was the one of the deadliest for US forces in Afghanistan in approximately 10 years. A bomb went off close to a door right outside Hamid Karzai International Airport, trailed by gunfire.

In the mean time, the Taliban took control over portions of Kabul international airport as and its partners plan for withdrawal on August 31 the cutoff time set to finish evacuations. However, the spokesperson of US State Department Ned Price in a presser said the military remains with US and its partners. He additionally guaranteed ‘will transfer Kabul airport back to the Afghan people’.
