Unease Between Leaders Denied For Tickets Day After Rajasthan BJP Release 1st List Of Candidates

Sources close to the development claim that since the Bharatiya Janata Party unveiled its initial list of 41 candidates for the assembly elections scheduled for November 23, there have been mutters of dissatisfaction from individuals who were not given tickets.

In its list that was unveiled on Monday, the BJP included 31 new candidates. Seven MPs have also been chosen for the assembly elections by it. Party leaders claim that a number of individuals who were close to former chief minister Vasundhara Raje are disgruntled because their names were not included on the list.

On Monday night, Pralhad Joshi, the party’s election in-charge in the state, arrived in Jaipur to take stock of the situation. “We will talk to the leaders and convince them. It is an internal matter of the party,” Joshi told reporters on Tuesday.

According to Joshi, the Congress has failed to maintain law and order, and crimes against women have escalated. According to Joshi, a minister in the Narendra Modi administration, Rajasthan’s electorate has already decided to remove the Congress government.

On Monday night, supporters of Rajpal Shekhawat gathered at his home and chanted pro-Rajpal Shekhawat chants after learning that his ticket from Jhotwara had been cancelled. Additionally, his followers marched to the Jaipur BJP office.

Shekhawat described the decision to deny him a ticket as startling. He continued by saying that he has supported the Jhotwara constituency for the last 15 years and twice won the seat. Rajyavardhan Rathore, an incumbent Jaipur Rural MP from Jhotwara, has run for office.

Anita Singh, who was denied a ticket from Nagar constituency, said she was upset by the party’s decision. She was a strong contender, but the party had given the ticket to a candidate who lost the election by a huge margin in 2018, Singh said. She would meet with her supporters and decide on her next course of action, she added.

From the Nagar seat, the party has put Jawahar Singh Bedham on the ballot. Former MLA and minister Bedham.

According to those familiar with the situation, BJP leaders Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, Anita Nagar, and other politicians met with former chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday night and Tuesday.

Although Raje is furious that her supporters’ tickets were cancelled, she is reportedly following party policy for the time being. She hasn’t made any public remarks, but on Monday, she congratulated the candidates in a tweet on X (previously Twitter).

A leader close to sitting MLA Narpat Singh Rajvi claimed on condition of anonymity that he is furious about not receiving a party ticket for the Vidyadhar Nagar constituency. The party did not discuss the Jaipur seats with anyone and all are surprised, the leader said. Rajvi would not rebel and contest, or join the Congress, he added.

Congress spokesperson Swarnim Chaturvedi said while dissent was an internal matter of the BJP, the party fielding MPs shows it does not have strong candidates on many seats.
