TMC MP Mahua Moitra Alleges Bengal Governor Of Nepotism

Taking dig at the West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar TMC MP Mahua Moitra on Sunday alleged him of nepotism saying that his family members and close acquaintances have been appointed for special duties in Raj Bhavan. She later posted a list of those appointees at her twitter handle which included OSD-coordination Akhil Chowdhury, OSD-administration Ruchi Dubey, OSD to governor Abbhudoy Singh Sekhawat, OSD-IT Koustav S Valikar, newly appointed OSD Kishan Dhankar and OSD-protocol Prasant Diksit.

She further said that Sekhawat who is appointed as OSD to governor is the son of Dhankar’s brother-in-law and Ruchi Dubey and Prasant Diksit are respectively wife and brother of his former aide-de-camp (ADC) Major Gorang Diksit. Valikar is the brother-in-law of present ADC Janardan Rao and Kishan Dhankar is also a close relative of the Governor, she said.

The Governor has however denied the allegations calling them ‘factually wrong’ and said that the OSDs at Raj Bhavan are from three different states and four different casts, adding “None of them is part of close family. Four of them are not from my caste or state”.

The TMC MP had also said, “We all have the democratic right to ask him questions. He keeps asking questions to the state government. I would rather request him to look into the mirror. He has brought his entire village and entire clan to Raj Bhavan.”

Ms Moitra also said the governor should take his “sorry self” back to Delhi and “find another job”. Her reaction came after the governor took to Twitter to hail the “extremely disturbing law and order situation” in West Bengal.
