Trinamool Congress’ fresh remarks have triggered a political stir after the ruling party in West Bengal claimed that there exist a nexus between the Bharatiya Janata Party and National Investigation Agency (NIA) to arrest big political leaders ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
However, the NIA immediately refuted the claim made TMC.
This comes after a raid was conducted near the Bhupatinagar area on April 6. The investigating agency has even arrested two people – Bailicharan Maity and Manobroto Jana in connection with the 2022 Bhupatinagar bomb blast.
Meanwhile, Manobroto Jana’s wife has even filed a complaint against the NIA officials who forcibly entered her house on the pretext of search operation. The officials even vandalized her residence during the Saturday’s raid.
The investigating agency has even lodged complaints in connection with the blast with the local police under various sections, but the police is yet to take any action in the matter.
In his response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also accused the Trinamool Congress of destroying the Constitution and saving the corrupt leaders.
“The TMC is such a party that wants to destroy our legal system and the Constitution, ” said the Prime Minister addressing a rally in Jalpaiguri.
Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee has also alleged the investigating agency of acting at the behest of BJP. She questioned, “agencies such as the NIA, ED and CBI…are carrying out raids without prior information, and barging into houses. What would women do if someone entered their house when everyone was asleep in the dead of night?”.
