Three New Vande Bharat Express Trains to be Inaugurated by PM Modi Today: Here’s What You Need to Know

According to the railway ministry, on Saturday, August 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate three new Vande Bharat Express trains to improve connectivity in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh.

The three new trains will join the current network of over 100 Vande Bharat Express trains, which connects over 280 districts.

Through video conference, Prime Minister Modi will officially open three Vande Bharat Express trains: the first will depart from Chennai Central to Nagercoil, the second from Madurai to Bengaluru Cantonment, and the third from Meerut City to Lucknow.

The train headed for Nagercoil will depart from Chennai Central at first, however it will run often from Chennai Egmore. Every day save Wednesdays will it run?

Pilgrims heading to the revered Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai and Kumari Amman Temple in Kanniyakumari will find it easier with the help of this Vande Bharat train service.

Train number 20627, which makes stops at Tambaram, Villupuram, Tiruchirappalli, Dindugal, Madurai, Kovilpatti, and Tirunelveli, is scheduled to depart Chennai Egmore at 5 a.m. and arrive at Nagercoil at 1:50 p.m. At 2:20 pm, the return train (number 20628) departs Nagercoil and arrives in Chennai at 11 pm.

With the exception of Tuesdays, the Vande Bharat train will travel six days a week between Madurai and Bengaluru cantonment.

The vibrant Madurai temple city in Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru, the state capital of Karnataka, will be connected by the Vande Bharat service.

At Dindugal, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, Namakkal, Salem, and Krishnarajapuram, Train No. 20671 would make stops before arriving at Bengaluru Cantonment at 1pm, having left Madurai at 5:15 Am.It will depart Bengaluru at 1:30 pm and arrive in Madurai at 9:45 pm in return (Train No. 20672).

On Sunday, the Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat train will start running regularly from Lucknow, and on Monday, it will depart from Meerut. With the exception of Tuesdays, it will be open six days a week.

This Vande Bharat train is expected to boost religious tourism in the region by providing faster travel to pilgrimage sites like Digambar Jain Temple, Mansa Devi Mandir, Surajkund Temple, and Augharnath Temple.

With stops at Moradabad and Bareilly, train 22490 will leave Meerut City at 6:35 am and arrive at Lucknow’s Charbagh railwy station at 1:45 pm. Train No. 22489 will leave the Charbagh railway station at 2:45 pm and arrive in Meerut City at 10:00 pm on its return trip.
