One terrorist is reported to be killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir early morning on Thursday.
The terrorist, identified as Myser Ahmad Dar was part of The Resistance Front (TRF), said Kashmir Zone Police.
The gunfight between the terrorist and the security forces began in Kathohalan area of South Kashmir district. The forces launched a search operation and cordon soon after they received inputs of presence of militants in the area.
The militants fired upon the security forces during the search operation. In their retaliation the forces ensued the encounter that killed the terrorist, said an official.
Meanwhile, in a second such event a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was injured in a firing by the Pakistani Rangers on the International Border in the Ramgarh area of Samba district today morning.
This was the third ceasefire violation in last 24 days by the Pakistani Ranger targeting the International Border.
However, the crackdown on these terror activities has been continuous in the Kashmir Valley.
