An impending television series called The Waking of a Nation, which is based on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar, has been in the trend for a while. After a lengthy production period, the creators of Neerja, Aarya, and Dhamaka are now prepared to launch the series on SonyLIV. The Waking of a Nation’s teaser, which was unveiled on Monday, looks really amazing.
General Dyer gives the order to shoot people at the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab, at the start of the teaser for The Waking of a Nation. In later Mismatched, actor Taaruk Raina plays an Indian lawyer who attempts to find the plot behind the murders. Furthermore, the same idea is implied in the teaser’s caption: “You know about the massacre, but you don’t know about the conspiracy.” The preview for The Waking of a Nation appears compelling and dramatic.
The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre occurred on April 13, 1919, in Amritsar, Punjab (now in Punjab state), India, when British troops opened fire on a large group of unarmed Indians in an open area known as the Jallianwala Bagh. The massacre claimed about 1,500 lives and injured hundreds more. The massacre severely damaged Indo-British relations, marking a turning point in India’s modern history.
Ram Madhvani, the filmmaker of Neerja, starring Sonam Kapoor, is the creator of The Waking of a Nation. The talented director has also produced the highly acclaimed film Dhamaka, starring Kartik Aaryan, and the Emmy-nominated television series Aarya, starring Sushmita Sen. Taaruk Raina and Nikita Dutta play the main characters in the six-episode serial. On March 7, the series will be made available only on SonyLIV. It is important to remember that a few months ago, SonyLIV also debuted a highly regarded series that was inspired by the Indian liberation movement. The series, Freedom At Midnight, received a lot of acclaim for its realistic depiction.
