The worsening Covid situation has now hugely impacted the Supreme Court, as 50 per cent of its staff has tested positive for the infection. The hearings will now be performed from home through video conferencing. The complete court premise, courtrooms, sittings all are being sanitized, told sources.
There is a fierce second wave in India which has resulted over 10 lakh cases in last week. The country on Sunday only reported 1,52,879 new cases.
India is leading the world in daily average number of infections as in every six cases reported in the world one accounts for India.
As compared to the last year’s tally the country is reported more number of deaths in the second wave. With reporting 839 deaths on Sunday which is the highest in five months, India took its death toll to 1,69,275, said the Health Ministry.
