States And UTs Where Vaccination Would Be Free From May 1

Amid the country recording daily high cases in the country, India will enter its third phase of vaccination from May 1 that will start vaccinating all above age 18.

Many states and Union territories including Uttar Pradesh and Kerala have announced free vaccinations to all the beneficiearies to motivate them to get them vaccinated at earliest.

Here is the complete list of those states and UTs that have made their vaccination free for all above age 18 from May 1 :

Uttar Pradesh

In his cabinet meeting last week the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh had announced that the state government will provide free vaccination to all above 18 years.

Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh ruling BJP led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also announced that the state will prove Covid-19 vaccination for free for all its adults from May 1.

Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday said that his cabinet has decided to vaccinate all the state adults for free of cost starting from May 1.

Bihar

The Bihar government on Wednesday announced that the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has decided to vaccinate all above 18 years free of cost from May 1 at all government and private hospitals.

Chhattisgarh

Stressing upon all the steps taken by the state government to save the lives of people the Chhattisgarh government on the same day when Bihar announced its free vaccination had said that all the people above 18 will be vaccinated for free in the state in the third phase starting from May 1.

Kerala

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also on Wednesday announced that all above 18 in the state will get free vaccination from May 1.

Goa

The people of Goa will also be administered the COVID-19 vaccine for free from May 1.

“I am pleased to convey Government approval to provide Covid vaccine doses to all populations in the age group 18-45 through the state government free of cost,” said the additional secretary for health, Vikas Gaunekar.

Uttarakhand

The Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat led BJP government on Friday said that all the adults 18 will be administered free Covid-19 vaccine from May 1.

Sikkim

In line with Bihar, Kerala Sikkim also on Wednesday announced that free vaccination will be administered to all above 18 in the state in the third phase of vaccination starting from May 1.

Assam

The state which is going to get its election result on May 2 has also announced free vaccination for all its adults above 18 from May 1.

“Assam will give FREE vaccines to everyone from 18-45 years. GOI is giving free vaccines for 45 +. Funds collected in Assam Arogya Nidhi last year shall be utilized for procurement of vaccines,” said the state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his tweet,

Maharashtra

In Maharshtra the free vaccination was announced by the state cabinet minister Nawab Malik on Sunday. He said the centre has made all above 18 eligible for vaccination and the state will make sure that all above 18 will get free vaccination.

Rajasthan

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday said that his cabinet has also decided to administer free vaccine to all above age 18 being eligible for vaccination from May 1.

Jammu and Kashmir

As decided by the administration of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha it was announced that vaccine will be administered for free in Jammu and Kashmir in the third phase of vaccination drive that will start from May 1.

“It has been decided that COVID-19 vaccination for people in the age group 18-45 years will be cost-free in the UT. The cost of vaccine will be fully borne by the government of J&K. The health department will constitute a panel to work out the logistics,” said the Lt’ Governor.
