Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film is already making money at the box office while Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 prepares to surpass the marks set by his previous blockbuster Pathaan. Jawan, which will be released on September 7, has already taken in 1.2 crore in advance bookings in the US alone.
According to the English daily, Jawan has sold approximately 9700 tickets across 367 theaters in America for the movie’s opening day in September. 9200 of these were for Hindi performances, while 360 were for Telugu performances. 200 of those reserved seats were for the Tamil performances, the report said.
According to trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, Jawan has made ₹1.2 crore in advance bookings in the US. He posted on the social media platform X, “#Jawan advance bookings are terrific in USA CROSSES $150K mark. Advance sales – $151,187 Locations – 367 Shows – 1607 Tickets – 9691 #ShahRukhKhan is all set to make history in Bollywood by becoming the first actor to have two ₹💯 cr+ opening day after #Pathaan.”
Several exhibitors and single-screen theatre owners have shared on social media that the film is receiving a tremendous response, even though the advance bookings are yet to open.
Exhibitor Vishek Chauhan wrote, “#Jawan.. Since we played 6am shows for #Pathaan I have already started getting inquiries and requests for #Jawan 6am shows and to open advances at the earliest..The inquiries are indicating that a Boxoffice #tsunami is on its way..This @iamsrk starrer is super hot.. @Atlee_dir.”
Atlee is directing Jawan, which will have a global theatrical debut on September 7. Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu are the three languages in which it will be released.
The movie, which also has Deepika Padukone in a cameo, will also include Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Nayanthara, and Priyamani. Red Chillies Entertainment produced the movie, and Anirudh Ravichander wrote the soundtrack.
Trade analysts predict that Gadar 2, which recently surpassed the 400 crore mark, will shortly surpass Pathaan’s domestic earnings of 543.05 crore.
