Playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, famous as KK passed away at the age of 53 on Tuesday evening. He was in Kolkata for a concert.
Soon after the concert the singer collapsed and he was immediately hurried him to a hospital, where doctors declared him “brought dead”.Earlier on Tuesday, KK had even posted pictures from his concert at Kolkata’s Nazrul Mancha.
He was one of the most versatile singers of the film industry, he has contributed many songs in multiple languages like Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali and others.
In family he had his wife and children.
Soon after news of his sudden demise leaked, Twitter was flooded with people expressing disbelief and grief over his death.
“Tragic to hear about the passing away of KK after falling ill while performing in Kolkata. Another reminder of how fragile life is. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti,” cricketer Virendra Sehwag said taking to his Twitter handle.
“I hear singer KK just passed away. GOD what is really happening!!?? I mean WHAT IS HAPPENING. One of the nicest humans kk sir was. Gone too soon at 53.Beyond shocked. RIP sir,” said singer Rahul Vaidya in a tweet.
Another tweet came from Harshdeep Kaur saying, “Just can’t believe that our beloved #KK is no more. This really can’t be true. The voice of love has gone. This is heartbreaking”.
“Extremely sad and devastated. Another shocking loss for all of us. Can’t believe our KK sir is no more what is even happening. I can’t take it anymore,” said singer and music director Armaan Maalik.
“Extremely sad and shocked to know of the sad demise of KK. What a loss! Om Shanti,” said Akshay Kumar.
