Shiv Sena politician Rajesh Shah, the father of accused Mihir Shah, was granted provisional cash bail by a Metropolitan Magistrate court in Dadar Sewri on Monday, contingent upon a ₹15,000 payment, according to ANI.
The accused’s father had previously requested release as soon as the same judge placed him under judicial custody for a period of 14 days. Rajrushi Bidawat, his driver, was detained by the police for a single day. They were taken into custody for helping Mihir Shah escape the scene of a hit-and-run in Worli that claimed the life of a woman.
According to authorities, a woman was struck by a BMW on Sunday morning in the Worli neighbourhood of Mumbai, resulting in her death. Mihir Shah, the son of a Shiv Sena politician who is still at large in CM Shinde’s organisation, is suspected of driving the vehicle. Rajesh Shah, the father of Mihir, the defendant in a hit-and-run case that claimed a woman’s life, called his 24-year-old son multiple times following the incident, according to a statement released by Worli Police on Monday.
Mihir had been out having fun with friends at a Juhu pub before to the event. Three of his pals who were with him that evening have provided testimonies to the police.
In an attempt to track down Mihir, who has been missing since the car he was allegedly driving collided with a scooter on Worli’s Dr. Annie Besant Road, Mumbai Police has set up fourteen teams. A lookout notice has been issued for Mihir, who is currently absconding.
Worli police say that at around 5:30 in the morning, Kaveri Nakhwa, 45, was riding on Annie Besant Road with her husband Pradip when the driver of a luxury automobile lost control.
After falling into the traffic, Kaveri was pronounced dead at the hospital. After receiving treatment, her spouse was let go.
