On Friday, the Aam Aadmi Party said that Amit Shah had explicitly stated in an interview that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by the ED was the result of a plot.
Party leader Atishi made the accusation during a press conference, claiming that Union Home Minister Shah had made it plain in an interview with a news station that the Enforcement Directorate planned to arrest Kejriwal as soon as it handed him a summons.
“Since the day Kejriwal started getting ED summons, AAP openly said that this was a conspiracy to arrest him,” Atishi stated.
The minister from Delhi stated that these were “BJP summonses,” not ED.
“Even then BJP spokespersons used to say that ED is an independent investigation agency and they have nothing to do with the summons,” she stated.
She claimed that because Kejriwal can expose the BJP’s ten years of misrule, the BJP is scared of him.
“Amit Shah himself said that the BJP-ruled central government and their ED had the intention from the very first day to arrest Shri Arvind Kejriwal and put him in jail,” Atishi stated.
She stated that Shah had stated the summonses were a ruse to contact Kejriwal and take him into custody.
