Sunday’s second consecutive day of intense rain in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh resulted in at least 27 fatalities, flooding, and waterlogging in various places, as well as disruptions to road and rail travel.
Rivers in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were still running high on Sunday, killing at least 15 persons in Telangana and 12 in Andhra Pradesh.

A red alert for very heavy to extremely heavy rain was issued by the weather department on Sunday for Monday in the Telangana districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Kamareddy, and Mahabubnagar.
Hyderabad, where a lot of rain has caused waterlogging in many areas, announced a school holiday on Monday.
During an emergency review meeting, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy instructed officials to stay vigilant and provide prompt help to districts impacted by flooding. Additionally, he urged everyone to stay inside their homes unless there was critical work to be done.
The district in Andhra Pradesh most severely affected has been Vijayawada. On Sunday, the Budameru river, which is located outside of Vijayawada, overflowed multiple times, causing floods in numerous areas of the city.
During his second visit, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu gave food packages to flood victims in Ajit Singh Nagar, one of the worst-affected areas in Vijayawada.
On Monday, there is a chance of significant rainfall in the districts of Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Parvatipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Kakinada, and Nandyala.
