Prime Minister Narendra Modi took his second jab of Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He had taken his first jab of Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin on March 1.
Sharing a picture of himself on twitter taking the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, the Prime Minister urged all the people who are eligible to get the vaccine doses to get themselves vaccinated at earliest.
“Got my second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at AIIMS today. Vaccination is among the few ways we have, to defeat the virus. If you are eligible for the vaccine, get your shot soon. Register on http://CoWin.gov.in,” tweeted PM Modi.
The two nurses who gave the second dose to the Prime Minister were Nisha Sharma from Punjab and P Niveda from Puducherry.
“I have given the second dose of Covaxin to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. He spoke to us. It was a memorable moment for me as I got to meet him and vaccinate him,” told Nisha Sharma to media.
According to the data by the Health Ministry, over 8.83 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far. Out of these 8.83 crore doses 89,65839 includes doses given to the healthcare workers who took their first shot while 54,04,837 who took their second shot.
