Rohit Shetty Talks About Lack Of Unity In Film Industry As He Gears Up For Cirkus Release

The release of Rohit Shetty’s upcoming movie Cirkus is rapidly approaching. Rohit mused on the Hindi film industry and how there is no unity when the movie opens in theatres in only one day. He discussed how performers are uneasy about working in films with multiple heroes.

In an interview with YouTube channel Beer Biceps, Rohit Shetty spoke on how the new generation of heroes are apprehensive of two-hero movies, saying, “There used to be so many movies with two and three heroes. These actors are kept insecure since even the managers don’t grasp this anymore. The best illustration of this is Drishyam, and you will never hear Ajay Devgn say this or that or anything else if you see seniors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Ajay Devgn.

Speaking about how the industry isn’t culturally unified and how Bollywood would be a force to be reckoned with if it were, he said. We are a powerful clan, but we don’t recognise our influence, he remarked. We are capable of much, but we are never united. People adore us, and we are able to change a great deal of things. We could do a lot if we banded together. We aren’t considering how to grow the theatre industry, how to collaborate with the government, or where to go—we can’t reach 10 crore people among 150 crore people.

He said, “When people say you’ve done great, I keep them away,” in reference to the industry’s “yes” men. I keep people near when they praise the movie.

When someone criticises you, don’t take them seriously, Shetty continued. I’ll pay attention when someone has good criticism to provide. Because they will have their own cultural perspectives and worldview, a filmmaker won’t be able to provide me advise, but audiences can count on them to be open and honest. They’ll enjoy movies directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rohit Shetty, and Anurag Kashyap.

Since South films are also performing well in the North Belt, there are many discussions among experts about how just one type of movies would succeed in Bollywood. In response, Shetty said, “No one knows anything; just do your work, hold to your principles, and don’t listen to 90% of those working in the field. “There are just a few of blockbusters that people just usually remember at the end of the year, and if everyone knew, then our success ratio wouldn’t be a 10% success rate,” he continued.

On December 23, 2022, Cirkus, starring Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Varun Sharma among others, will be released.
