Search is going on in the premises linked to West Bengal minister and Trinamool Congress leader Sujit Bose in Kolkata, state capital by the Enforcement Directorate in alleged civic body recruitment scam.
This comes amid the investigating agency conducts search and seizure operations along with the ongoing investigation Into the alleged recruitment scam in the state-run schools in West Bengal.
With the TMC leader, the agency is also searching the premises linked with former North Dum Dum Municipality chairman Subodh Chakraborty and party spokesman Tapas Roy.
During its investigation the investigating agency conducted raids at multiple places on December 28 last year. Offices and residents of many different people were raided.
In the alleged irregularities in recruitment, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) summoned the minister of atate’s fire and emergency services.
However, there is no notice issued to Mr Bose so far, but he has assured that whenever it does he will visit the CBI. He also termed the whole event a political conspiracy targeting him.
The TMC leader was the vice-chairman of South Dum Dum Municipality between 2010-2021 and it was the time when 250 people were allegedly recruited to the civic body unethically.
