Rahul Gandhi Accuses BJP Of Dividing India Among Billionaires And Poor During Rally In Gujarat

In his Bharat Jodo Yatra speech on Monday, Congressman Rahul Gandhi accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of planning to oust tribal people—who he called “the initial owners of the country”—and of giving forests to industrialists.

According to the news agency, he added that the government of the ruling party is establishing “two Indias,” one for handpicked billionaires and one for the underprivileged.

Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi gave speeches at two rallies in Gujarat, one in Rajkot and one in Mahuva in the Surat area.

The Wayanad MP brought up the Morbi bridge collapse disaster, in which 135 people lost their lives last month, and claimed that throughout his 3,500 km long Bharat Jodo Yatra, he saw the suffering of farmers, young people, and tribal people. He claimed that because the “true criminals” in Gujarat are friendly with the BJP, no action has been taken against them.

Gandhi stated during an election rally in Rajkot that although the watchmen stationed at the bridge collapse site were detained, the real offenders were not prosecuted because they were connected to the BJP.

According to sources, he also addressed other problems of public concern, such as unemployment, inflation, the effects of demonetisation, the flawed GST, and the forgiving of NPAs owed by a select group of billionaires totaling lakhs of crores.

In the 2017 Gujarat Assembly elections, Congress won 77 seats. In Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state, the grand old party is now attempting to mount a challenge to the BJP, which is running for a seventh consecutive term.

Gandhi stated of his Bharat Jodo Yatra: “This padayatra was for the oneness of the country, and throughout the cross-country foot march, after hearing to their difficulties, I felt the sorrow of farmers, youngsters, and people from the tribal group.”

“They (BJP) refer to you as “vanvasi” (forest dwellers). They just claim that you live in the jungles, not that you were India’s original owners. Do you notice the distinction? It implies that they do not want you to live in a city, see your kids become physicians, engineers, or pilots, or learn to speak English “Added he.
