Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Joins Bharat Jodo Yatra As It Enters Madhya Pradesh

Congress General Secretary and sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi as it went through Madhya Pradesh.

Starting from 7 September, the Yatra has successfully moved throughout the Maharashtra and today entered Madhya Pradesh – the BJP ruled state.

Today the march led by Gandhis begin from from Khandwa’s Borgaon. Before visiting to Khargone, the march will visit the birthplace of Tantia Bhil – the tribal icon and freedom fighter.

As Congress has set up an agenda to reach out to the tribal community, the BJP has already executed its Janjatiya Gaurav Yatra from Tantia Bhil’s birtholace on Wednesday. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had also taken part at the beginning of the march.

Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday even alleged the BJP of bribing MLA’s to bring down the Congress government led by Kamal Nath after 2018 win.

He further said that the Congress was compelled to launch Bharat Jodo Yatra because all the “democratic avenues are shut” under the central government led by BJP. “The Lok Sabha, the electoral route, the press — everything is closed. All the institutions — the RSS/BJP have cornered them, filled them with their own men. The judiciary is under pressure. So we thought there is only one option. Hit the road, embrace the people, listen to the farmers, listen to the labourers, the small traders, and join them,” he said.

Highlighting the three goals behind the Yatra Mr Gandhi said, “Firstly, this is against the hatred, violence and fear that is being spread in India. Secondly, it is against unemployment. And thirdly, it is against inflation”.
