During his two-day visit to Gujarat, which starts Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil projects totalling more than Rs 77,400 crore. A statement claims that on Monday, Modi will launch an electric locomotive from Dahod and open a plant to manufacture locomotives.
After that, he would go to Bhuj and start a number of development projects that will cost more than Rs 53,400 crore. He will speak at events at both locations. According to the statement, Modi will launch Urban Development Year 2025 in Gandhinagar on Tuesday and attend an event commemorating the 20th anniversary of Gujarat Urban Growth Story.
Electric locomotives with 9,000 horsepower will be produced at the Dahod factory for both domestic and international markets. According to the statement, these locomotives are being constructed to use less energy and will have regenerative braking systems installed.
Modi will launch an express train between Valsad and Dahod stations as well as the Vande Bharat Express between Veraval and Ahmedabad. Additionally, a goods train will be flagged off on the gauge-converted Katosan-Kalol section by the prime minister. Projects being started in Bhuj include an ultra super critical thermal power plant unit at Tapi, transmission projects for evacuating renewable power generated in the Khavda Renewable Energy Park and transmission network expansion.
As Gujarat’s chief minister, Modi initiated the landmark Urban Development Year 2005 project with the goal of improving the state’s urban environment through better governance, planned infrastructure, and the standard of living for city dwellers. Modi will introduce Gujarat’s urban development plan, the State Clean Air Programme, and the Urban Development Year 2025 in Gandhinagar to commemorate the initiative’s 20th anniversary. He will launch and establish the groundwork for several initiatives pertaining to water supply, health, and urban development.
