Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is preparing for its September 7 release. However, a tsunami will follow the Atlee movie in the approaching month as Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, starring Prabhas, is set for release on September 29. While both movies have kept the audience on their toes, the competition at the box office has already started with both movies available for advance booking in the US.
While Shah Rukh Khan’s movie had advance booking start a month before release, Prabhas’ movie didn’t go on sale at the box office until more than 30 days before it was scheduled to. Everyone was shocked by the success of both movies’ ticket sales, though.
According to the most recent reports, Prabhas defeated Shah Rukh Khan by a wide margin. In the US, Salaar has already sold tickets worth $232K and Jawan has sold seats worth $183K in just two days of advance sales. Some others asserted that there is also a significant variation in the average ticket price between the two movies.
The typical ticket cost for Salaar is about $28, whereas the cost for Jawan is only $15. However, no one can ignore the fact that during approximately 15 days of ticket sales, Jawan has only sold about 11.8K tickets, while Prabhas’ Salaar has sold an enormous 8.6K tickets in just two days.
While Salaar has so far managed to secure 643 shows, Jawan is currently airing on more than 1700 shows in the US. Shah Rukh Khan appears to have the upper hand over Prabhas when comparing the number of theaters where the movies are playing, with the Atlee movie playing in 407 locations compared to the Prashanth Neel movie’s 222 in the US.
Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is receiving a lot more excitement than Atlee’s SRK-starring film. Shah Rukh Khan will, however, rise to the occasion and, as he did with Pathaan, rule the box office with huge numbers. In a few weeks, Indian cinema will undoubtedly have a blockbuster month!
