A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a policeman in Dausa district of Rajasthan on Friday.
The accused sub-inspector named Bhupendra Singh lured the four-year-old girl to his room and then raped her in yesterday afternoon. The incident took place in the district’s Lalsot area, said ASP Ramchandra Singh Nehra.
Mr Nehra has even said that the accused has been arrested and is being questioned.
Locals from the nearby areas gathered in huge numbers surrounding the Rahuwas police station, shouting slogans against the police. They even beated Bhupendra Singh before he was officially arrested.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena went to the site and said, “There is a huge anger among the people over the incident of rape of a Dalit girl by a policeman in Lalsot. I have reached the spot to get justice to the innocent child”.
“The police, which has become autocratic due to the incompetence of the Ashok Gehlot government, is not desisting from committing atrocities even on a sensitive occasion like elections,” he further said.
“The accused, ASI Bhupendra Singh, is facing severe action, and he will soon be dismissed from his job. The police, along with the family, will provide assistance to all the affected members of the family in every possible way,” said the BJP leader.
Mr Meena also assured that the family of the victim will be compensated by the government for the trauma with which the victim and her family are going through.
