The Vande Bharat Express and Terminal 2 at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) will be officially opened during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s trip to Bengaluru on Friday, November 11. This will significantly boost the state of Karnataka’s transportation industry.
On the occasion of Kanakadasa Jayanthi, Modi will also dedicate the much-anticipated statue of Bengaluru founder Kempegowda at the airport and present floral tributes to the poet-saint Kanakadasa at Vidhana Soudha.
The prime minister will take a car trip to Vidhana Soudha after arriving at HAL airport at 10 a.m. He will take part in Jagadguru Niranjanananda Puri Mahaswamiji’s floral tribute at 10.30 a.m. to the statues of the saints Kanakadasa and Valmiki.

The Hennur-Kothanur-Bagalur-Begur Backgate should be used by travellers going to and from the airport, according to Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ravikanthe Gowda, as the Kempegowda International Airport Elevated Corridor has been closed due to the visit of the prime minister. Gowda added that there will be limits on traffic movement in Bengaluru’s central business district.
On Friday between 7 am and 3 pm, the police have diverted traffic. At the same time, heavy truck entry into the city has been banned; instead, use Outer Ring Road (ORR).
