Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project today, through which two iconic landmarks will be connected – Ganga ghats and Kashi Vishwanath temple in his constituency, Varanasi.
PM Modi will today inaugurate the first phase of the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, which is of worth ₹ 339 crore. He will visit the temple at 1 pm.
Under this phase, total of 23 buildings will be inaugurated, which are spread over 5 lakh square feet area irrespective of the previous premises which was spread across 3,000 square feet.
At first, PM Modi will visit the ancient Kal Bhirav temple, where he will offer prayers inside sanctum sanctorum, in presence of Shrikant Mishra, who is the main priest of the Kashi Vishwanath temple.
Reportedly, Prime Minister Modi will enter the corridor through the Lalita Ghat and arrive at the ‘Mandir Parisat’ by the ornate north gate of the premises. He will offer Ganga water to the ‘shiv ling’ inside.
“Kashi Vishwanath temple will be presented as a new ‘Dham’ to the nation and world. It will be inaugurated by PM Modi, whose vision and guidance have played a key role…This ‘Dham’ will give a new, global identity to Varanasi,” said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
According to the sources, this project will be shown as the key achievement by the ruling BJP in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The top leaders of the party and the Chief Ministers of all the BJP-ruled states have also been called in for a show of strength in the elections.
