PM Modi Invites Outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind For Dinner, Union Cabinet And CMs Join

Friday night in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a dinner for outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind. Members of the Union Cabinet, Chief Ministers of various states, numerous Padma recipients, and other dignitaries attended the dinner.

Additionally present at the goodbye meal for Mr. Kovind, whose tenure expires on Monday, was President-elect Droupadi Murmu.

All regions of the nation were well-represented at the ceremony, including tribal leaders.

The meal was distinctive because the focus was on making it more representative and there was not the typical Delhi-centric crowd.

Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, and members of the prime minister’s Cabinet were all present. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a leader in the Congress, was also present.

Yesterday, Droupadi Murmu, the opposition’s presidential candidate, was soundly defeated and declared the winner, becoming the new President of India. On Monday, she will take her oath in the Central Hall of Parliament.
