PM Modi Inaugurates AIIMS Gujarat, 4 More To Be Via Virtual Mode

During his two-day visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated an All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Rajkot. Additionally, the prime minister will essentially open four more AIIMS at Bathinda, Punjab; Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh; Kalyani, West Bengal; and Mangalgiri, Andhra Pradesh.

The AIIMS Act of 1956 governs the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, which operates independently under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The school provides a wide range of courses, including B.Sc. Nursing, DM/M.Ch, MD/MS/MDS, M.Sc., M. Biotech, M.Sc. Nursing, and PhD programmes. In 2023, AIIMS Delhi ranked sixth in the medical category of the NIRF Ranking.

AIIMS Bhopal was founded in 2012 as part of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) and serves as a central location for a variety of academic programmes, including MBBS, BSc (Hons), MD, MS, and MSc Nursing. AIIMS Bhopal was ranked 38th in the medical category of the NIRF Ranking 2023. The institution’s main course is MBBS as well.

Formerly known as the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS Bhubaneswar was founded in 2012. The organisation is one of the six that were founded under the PMSSY. In the NIRF Ranking 2023, AIIMS Bhubaneswar was ranked seventeenth. The school provides students with UG, PG, and Super Specialty courses, among other options. Some of the major courses which are offered by the institution are MBBS, BSc (Hons) Nursing, MS, MD, M.Ch, and DM.

Founded in 2012 and housed in the capital of Chhattisgarh, AIIMS Raipur is ranked 39th on the NIRF 2023 list. In all, 44 courses across 36 streams are offered by the institute, including UG, PG, Super-specialty, and PhD studies in medicine, paramedical science, and AYUSH.

The Bihar capital is home to AIIMS Patna, which was formerly known as the Jaya Prakash Narayan All India Institute of Medical Sciences (JPNAIIMS). It was founded in 2012. In the medical category, AIIMS Patna was ranked 27th in the NIRF 2023 ranking. Numerous courses are available at the institute, including as MBBS, MD, MS, DM, McH, and others.

Established in 2012, AIIMS Rishikesh provides a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, fellowship, and doctoral courses with specific specialisations. AIIMS Rishikesh was ranked 22nd in the medical category by the NIRF in 2023. The institution offers MBBS, MD, MS, DM, MCh, paramedical, and other medical courses.

During the 2014–15 budget speech, the PMSSY announced four AIIMS, including All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis lay the institute’s foundation stone. MBBS is a full-time undergraduate degree programme offered by AIIMS Nagpur, along with postgraduate courses in a few fields.

AIIMS, Bibinagar Hyderabad Metropolitan Region (HMR), Telangana, was built under Phase-VII of PMSSY and was established in 2019. The institute offers MBBS, MD/ MS, and B.Sc (Hons) in Nursing courses.

The only All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Jharkhand, AIIMS Deoghar started functioning in 2019. The institute offers UG courses including MBBS and Nursing, PG courses like MD/MS and PhD, and Superspeciality and Post Doctoral courses as well.

Located in Uttar Pradesh, AIIMS Gorakhpur is an autonomous medical institution. It was established under ‘Phase-IV’ of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana in 2014. The institute offers medical – MBBS and PhD – and para medical – BSc. Nursing (Post Basic) – courses.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati to be set up at Changsari in Assam’s Kamrup district in 2017. It started its first academic session on January 12, 2021, with a batch of 50 MBBS students and 21 faculty members across four departments. The institute offers MBBS course with an intake of 125 students, with the nursing college admitting 75 students annually.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Kalyani on Sunday, along with four other AIIMS branches in the country. However, the institute is yet to receive its environmental clearance from the West Bengal Pollution Control Board. AIIMS Kalyani was officially approved by Union Cabinet on October 7, 2015. The institute offers MBBS and Nursing courses.

Its foundation stone laid by PM Modi in 2016, AIIMS Bathinda was one of the institutes virtually inaugurated by the prime minister on Sunday. The institute offers MBBS and BSc. Nursing courses, as well as a Centre of Excellence skill development project of Respiratory Therapist. The skill development project is in collaboration with PSDM (Candidate mobilization, Financial support and general coordination) and PGRKAM (Punjab Ghar Ghar Rojgar and Karobar Mission).

In February 2009, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) located in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, received approval under PMSSY Phase-II. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, passed in 2013, recognised the institute as an autonomous institution and an important national institute.

Having been founded in 2018, AIIMS Mangalagiri offers certificate programmes in undergraduate, postgraduate, and post-doctoral studies.
