After wrapping up a two-day trip to France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi left on Saturday for the United Arab Emirates. While there, he met with French President Emmanuel Macron and had extensive discussions with him. He also received the Grand Cross of the Legion of decoration, the nation’s highest civilian and military decoration.
“PM @narendramodi bids adieu to France following a successful visit that heralded a new chapter in India-France relationship. PM now emplanes for Abu Dhabi for the next leg of his visit,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.
When PM Modi arrives in Abu Dhabi for the day-long visit during which the two key partners will assess the progress after they signed a historic trade pact, energy, food security, and defence may very well be the areas of attention.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the UAE and ruler of Abu Dhabi, will speak with PM Modi.
The third step in the trinity will be completed by PM Modi’s visit to Abu Dhabi following a meaningful discussion with the French leadership.
As they launched a 25-year roadmap to further their strategic alliance, India and France stated on Friday that they were looking into the possibility of co-developing and co-producing important military platforms, especially for the benefit of friendly nations.
