People Protest Outside SRK’s Mannat Over His Endorsement For Online Gaming, Security Tightened

After protesters gathered in front of Shah Rukh Khan’s house Mannat on August 26, the Mumbai police tightened security there. According to media sources, a group of people protested the celebrity’s endorsement of online gaming applications. According to a report, the police apprehended four to five members of the Untouch Youth Foundation on August 27.

The protesters claimed that these apps corrupt and mislead young people. They also encouraged celebrities not to support such commercials that promote societal misdirection.

Krishchandra Adal, President, Untouch India Foundation told that Junglee rummy is played by the younger generation, further adding he said that the Bollywood celebs are deceiving them by promoting online games while the authorities arrest people who are playing Junglee rummy or gambling outside. As per the report, he also said that apart from SRK, they also oppose other actors including Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, Prakash Raj, Annu Kapoor, Rana Daggubati, and cricketers. “We wanted to protest outside the houses of these stars as well, but the police detained us,” he said. The Foundation also said that they will also be holding protest against Junglee Rummy, Zupee, etc.

“The new generation is involved in playing Junglee rummy. If someone is playing Junglee rummy or gambling outside, the police arrest them, but big Bollywood stars promoting online games are misleading the young generation. The Bollywood stars also know it is wrong, but they are getting money so they are promoting them,” he said.

“We make these stars famous by watching their movies and spending our money on them. We demand these advertisements to stop. These apps are illegal, we can not find them on Google, but these apps are uploaded on private web sites,” he added.

The government issued a warning to the media, social media platforms, and other relevant parties on Friday against allowing and running advertisements for online real-money gaming (RMG) companies.

If these platforms disregard its advice, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) has threatened “appropriate actions” under “various statutes.” The ministry wants to stop both direct and indirect promotion of games that could be considered betting or gambling.

The advisory published on Friday stated that advertisements for betting or gambling platforms “pose significant financial and socioeconomic risk for the consumers, especially (the) youth and children, and have links to money laundering networks, thereby threatening the financial security of the country.”

Returning to SRK, his upcoming movie Jawan, which will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, is scheduled to enter theatres on September 7. Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Sanya Malhotra play crucial roles in the Atlee-directed film “Jawan.” Under the production label Red Chillies Entertainment, it is produced by Gauri Khan with Gaurav Gupta serving as co-producer. New song teaser “Not Ramaiya Vastvaiya” for the eagerly anticipated film was released. Two tracks, “Zinda Banda” and “Chaleya,” as well as a two-minute preview of the film have already been made available.

In the film, it is seen Shah Rukh sports multiple looks, including the one in which his face is almost covered with bandages, a clean shave, his face half-covered with a grey mask and a bald look. Apart from Jawan, SRK will also be seen in director Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming film ‘Dunki’ opposite Taapsee Pannu.
